Nurturing Toddlers' Potential
A World of Learning
The Toddler Classes at Santa Clara Montessori offer a rich and varied learning experience, tailored to the unique developmental needs of children aged 2 to 3 years. Our program is designed to ignite the natural curiosity of toddlers, fostering their cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Through a blend of structured and free-play activities, we create an environment that encourages exploration and discovery. Our curriculum includes a wide range of artistic, expressive, and technological subjects, allowing each child to experience and engage with a variety of learning modalities. This holistic approach ensures that our toddlers develop a love of learning and a strong foundation for their future educational journey.
Practical Life Skills
Our toddlers engage in practical life activities that are fundamental for their development. These activities include transferring objects using different tools, spooning, pouring, and sweeping, which are essential for developing fine motor skills and coordination. Additionally, self-care tasks like dressing and napkin folding foster independence and self-reliance. These activities are not only about learning practical skills but also about understanding and respecting their environment.
Language Development
Language development is a key focus in our Toddler Classes. We introduce children to language arts through activities that include understanding opposites, recognizing phonetic sounds, and beginning letter tracing. This early exposure to language helps in developing strong communication skills, essential for future academic success. Our approach is designed to make learning language fun and engaging, encouraging toddlers to express themselves confidently.
Sensory and Motor Skills
Sensory and motor skill development is integral to our toddler curriculum. We incorporate activities like smelling jars, sound cylinders, and touch boards to refine sensory perception and cognitive development. These activities are carefully designed to stimulate the senses, helping toddlers to differentiate and categorize their experiences. Additionally, activities that promote fine and gross motor skills are included to enhance physical development and hand-eye coordination.
